Transfer to North Lake

Below are some helpful tips to assure a smooth transition for students transferring to North Lake from another college:
  • Send your official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities to Admissions. Credits will be transferred to North Lake only if an official transcript is on file with Admissions.

  • Students transferring to NLC with a GPA below 2.0 or an academic standing of probation, suspension, or dismissal from another institution will be required to follow North Lake College probation policies (Click here for Summer 2014 procedures. Click here for Fall 2014 procedures). This may require students to make an appointment with a probation advisor, enroll in a college success course, and/or limit their course selection and number of credit hours.

  • See an academic advisor. Receive assistance with educational planning and goal setting.
  • Apply for a Degree Plan in our Advising Office. An official degree plan will outline what courses you have taken and which remain.
  • Please ask us if you have questions! Advisors can help you navigate the sometimes confusing transfer process.
